Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does GRID sync across my devices? A: Your session records do. If you have iCloud enabled, records sync via your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. We do not have access to this data.

Q: Do my tags and settings sync too? A: No. Tags, presets, theme and alert settings are stored only on the device you set them on. If you install GRID on a second device, your records will appear there, but you will need to set up tags and presets again.

Q: Can I customize the six time presets? A: Yes. Open Settings → Presets and edit each one in minutes.

Q: Why doesn't the timer stop automatically when it reaches zero? A: GRID is designed so you decide when a session ends, not the clock. When the timer reaches zero it continues into overrun, counting upward, and the center label changes from FOCUS to DONE. Tap DONE to finish the session and save it to your records.

Q: Why is there a short pause after I tap a preset? A: A single tap both selects the length and starts the session, so the cell fills with color and holds for a moment before the timer begins. That brief pause is there on purpose — it is the only moment you can see which length you chose.

Q: Where are Records and Settings? I only see the grid. A: Tap the circle in the top-right corner. It moves to the center of the screen and opens a menu with Records, Tags, Settings, Presets, Theme and Alerts.

Q: How do I tag a session? A: Tap the chip in the top-left corner, which reads NONE until you choose a tag. The tag you select is saved with every session you run after that.

Q: Can I change the Break and Long Break durations? A: Yes. Open Settings → Pomodoro and edit each in minutes.

Q: How do I delete a session record? A: Open Records, swipe a row, and tap DELETE.

Q: How do I switch between Matt White and Matt Black themes? A: Open Settings → Appearance → Theme. Changing the theme also changes the app icon on your Home Screen, so iOS may show its standard "you have changed the icon" alert.

Q: I also use TURN. Why do I see records I made in the other app? A: GRID and TURN share the same iCloud container, so focus records made in either app appear in both. This happens only within your own iCloud account.
